Roy Barrett Recognized as 50 Year Lawyer

Congratulations to Roy Barrett who was recognized this month at the 2019 State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting as a 50 Year Lawyer. Even more impressive is the fact that Mr. Barrett has spent all 50 of those years practicing with Naman Howell.

After graduating from Baylor Law School Mr. Barrett started with Naman Howell in 1969 and has engaged in general civil trial practice ever since. He has so far tried over 100 cases to judgement in Texas state and federal courts, and he has been counsel of record in appellate cases in several Texas Courts of Appeals, Supreme Court of Texas, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and United States Supreme Court and presented oral arguments in over 30 appellate cases.

Mr. Barrett has also been instrumental in Naman Howell’s continued growth and success, serving as the Firm President from 2007 – 2013, and is now currently serving as the Firm’s Chairman of the Board since 2013.

As impressive of a career as that has been, Mr. Barrett shows no sign of slowing down as he continues to tackle complex matters for the firm’s clients and mentors the younger lawyers following in his footsteps.
