Elizabeth Carey
Elizabeth was one of the original attorneys to open our Houston office in 2024, bringing over 25 years of litigation and business law experience to the firm. She has resolved hundreds of complex insurance and bad faith cases, defended national manufacturers in mass tort litigation, and advised international companies on establishing operations in Texas. Known for her strategic approach and client-focused advocacy, Elizabeth continues to deliver outstanding results across a wide range of matters.
Rachel Heckelman
Rachel joined the firm in 2015 after graduating from The University of Texas School of Law. She has focused her practice on renewable energy, public utility, and commercial real estate matters. Rachel has extensive experience negotiating contracts, guiding acquisitions and dispositions, and advising on real estate transactions. Known for her practical, solution-oriented style, Rachel helps clients navigate complex issues with clarity and confidence.
John Raveney
In five short years with our firm, John has blazed a trail as an in-demand transactional attorney and educational leader. His practice has focused on business and corporate law, commercial transactions, and emerging growth companies. He has guided clients through mergers and acquisitions ranging from $100K to over $1B, while also advising equity financings, intellectual property, and complex contract negotiations. It is no surprise that John’s hard work and collaborative nature recently earned him top honors as a 2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America - Banking and Finance Law, Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships), Mergers and Acquisitions Law award winner.

John Gomez
With thirty plus cases in just seven years of practice experience, John is setting the bar high in legal excellence for new associates. He focuses on personal injury and civil defense matters, while providing clients with strategic, results-driven advocacy across complex cases. A graduate of St. Mary’s University Law School and the University of Texas at Austin, John has recently been recognized as a 2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants.
Jason Sheffield
Since joining the firm five years ago, Jason has provided clients with strategic representation across complex litigation matters including transportation, commercial, and real estate disputes. A graduate of Texas A&M University School of Law, Jason previously clerked for Chief Justice John M. Bailey at the Eleventh District Court of Appeals of Texas and gained experience with the Fourteenth Court of Appeals, the Texas Attorney General’s Office, and federal agencies.
