Alyse Burks handles the defense of employment practices and professional liability matters, as well as catastrophic injury, premises liability and products liability matters. Alyse works closely with clients in investigating and defending claims under Title VII, the Texas Labor Code, the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and an assorted array of federal and state laws and regulations. Additionally, Alyse regularly provides counsel and consultation to businesses for improving and implementing effective employment policies and agreements. Alyse works vigorously to represent her clients' interests and provide creative and effective solutions to a variety of legal issues. Alyse believes in a client-centered practice and ensures that her clients are informed and involved throughout the litigation process.
Alyse Burks graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. During law school, Alyse served as a Lead Articles Editor for the SMU Law Review and was an advocate for the Labor & Employment Mock Trial Competition. Alyse was also Chief Counsel for the SMU Child Advocacy Clinic, where she represented children in the Texas CPS and foster care system. Additionally, she was named a State Bar of Texas Pro Bono College Member for her pro bono work for the Dallas County Public Defender's Office.
Alyse graduated magna cum laude from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Psychology. She also received Departmental Honors for her thesis on the Juvenile Justice System.

Beyond the Law
Outside of her legal work, Alyse enjoys spending time with her son and husband. She also loves cheering on the TCU Horned Frogs and Houston Astros, attending sporting events, wine tasting, traveling, and interior home design.
